Thomas G. Plumb, CFA, is the Principal, Lead Portfolio Manager, and Senior Research Analyst at Wisconsin Capital Management. With a distinguished financial career spanning over three decades, Tom has guided institutional and private clients through multiple economic cycles.
Tom began his financial leadership career as co-founder of Thompson Plumb & Associates in 1984, establishing a reputation for disciplined, fundamental equity and fixed-income research in the Midwest. Since January 2004, he has served as Principal of Wisconsin Capital Management, directing investment policy and portfolio allocation across privately managed individual accounts and affiliated mutual funds.
Throughout his career, Tom managed two flagship mutual funds for over two decades—the Thompson Plumb Balanced Fund and the Dreyfus Premier Balanced Opportunity Fund—delivering consistent long-term capital stewardship grounded in risk-adjusted performance.
Beyond portfolio management, Tom is a passionate cigar aficionado with a deep appreciation for the world’s finest tobaccos, active in local Madison community initiatives and financial mentorship.
